Q) After placing bills in the feed hopper and running a few
bills, it stops and displays “CHN-DB”, what causes
this?
A) “CHN” and “DB”, indicates a chain
or double. This is caused by the thickness
adjustment set high, allowing more than one bill to pass through
at a time. This can
be corrected by adjusting the thickness screw located
behind the right hand guide, at the top of the cover. This is
identified by the + and – marks, and 4 tick marks on each side.
- Adjust the screw so the top and bottom input rollers
are about even with each other. Run a stack of bills, and observe
if they are coming up “CHN” or “DB”, indicating that bills
are not being separated correctly. Turn the screw “CCW”
counter clockwise about a quarter of a turn.
- You may need to repeat this procedure until all
bills run without the “CHN” or “DB” error being displayed.
Q) The UV detection does not detect ”COUNTERFEIT
CURRENCY” just after the machine is turned on and bills are fed
through?
A) The UV lamp needs about 5 minutes to warm up to
properly detect “COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY”. This is noted in the
operators manual.
