The following is a list of questions frequently asked about setup and maintenance for the EDP-2000. EDP-2000 Q) The last check does not always clear the machine, and occasionally gets an extra signature, how can this be fixed? A) The EDP-2000 must be put on a stand or to the back of a table with plenty of Clearance to allow the processed checks to fall out of the machine. After the last check has been signed, gravity pulls the last check from the machine. That is why it is important that the finished checks are located well below the back of the machine. Q) The machine is signing too high or too low, what causes this? A) It could be a loose belt, loose pulley, bad home switch, or defective brake on the motor. A call to your local Hedman Distributor is necessary. These items are not customer serviceable, and repairs should be performed only by an authorized Hedman Distributor. Q) How many plates are required? A) 31/2" forms require 2 plates. 7" forms require 1 plate. Q) On 7" forms the machine does not shut off at the end of the run A) Adjust switch by the relays. Call your local Hedman distributor. Q) I am getting over- or under- counts A) The selector key may be in the wrong position. Set selector for type of form being run and remove the selector key Q) My machine won't run continuous A) Your top cover is not locked. Close top cover and remove key. -or- You have a defective switch right tractor. Call your local Hedman distributor. Q) How many imprints can my ink roll make? A) Normally 150,000 imprints depending on area of engraving; this does not apply over long periods of time; running 25,000 imprints/year does not mean the ink roll will last 6 years due to natural degradation. Q) I have ink on a painted area of my machine - how do I clean this off? A) See the following steps: - Clean with lemon extract on a rag and wipe down
- Clean with WD-40 on a rag and wipe down, can also clean plate with WD-40
